Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps in Portugal for Q1 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, the top five navigation and maps applications in Portugal showed varied performance metrics in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s an overview based on Sensor Tower’s data.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw consistent weekly downloads, starting at around 16K in early January and peaking at approximately 19K by the end of March. The weekly active users for Waze started at over 511K and increased to 546K by the end of the quarter, indicating steady user engagement.

Google Maps Go experienced a slight decline in weekly downloads over the quarter. Starting at 10.4K downloads in the first week of January, the app saw a drop to approximately 8K downloads by the end of March. However, the active users remained robust, fluctuating around 1.3M and peaking at 1.39M in mid-March.

Via Verde had a more stable download trend. Weekly downloads ranged from 5.8K to 7.1K across the quarter. Active users for Via Verde hovered around 16K, with minor fluctuations throughout the period.

Google Earth saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 3.4K and rising to 4.6K by the end of March. The active user base also showed a steady trend, starting at 33K and slightly increasing to 35K over the quarter.

Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer exhibited a fluctuating download pattern. The app started with 3.7K downloads in the first week of January and ended with around 1.4K downloads in late March. Active users also varied, starting at 2.3K and decreasing to 1.6K by the end of the quarter.
